What?
The story was about two souls born in different bodies, always finding each other. That part of the story was good.
However, the remaining hour and a half of the movie was extraneous filler. You could have filmed 4 films (one for each era) and it would have been a little more entertaining.
On the plus side, I thought the director did an amazing if not cliché job of tying most of the monologues into the transition scenes. Unfortunately, the props department re-used set elements and clothing in a less effective but similar manner.
Don't get me started on post-apocalyptic Hallie Berry's floating southern accent and Tom Hanks' dodgy Irish accent nor shall we mention white/Korean Hallie Berry, the black Asian, the Mexican Asian, and a ton of white Koreans.
What this movie did do well was urge me to visit my local library to peruse the original literary rendition just to see how badly done the movie truly was.
