Comic book movies & a GM's mind

After playing threw a few scenes of the Marvel Heroic Role-Playing Game, I've come to realize just how ingenious the cortex system. Cortex has officially stolen the mantle of RPG's for Advanced role-players from Palladium books' "Rifts".
So here I am watching the Marvel Animes (more specifically the x-men anime written by Warren Ellis) & I can't help but see the action scenes as if they were being played out on a table top. I can envision, every use of the Watcher's Doom Dice, every usage of Wolverine's iconic 'berserker rage' power. Even the White Queens diamond shell ability being used against Mastermind's psychic illusions.
This makes me wish I had a job and friends who wanted to live out their favorite comic books with a surprising amount of success. Just so I can design the adventures and characters.
On the flip side of things I can't help but notice the similarities between this story and the one from the American x-men cartoon in the '90's centered around Moira McTaggart and her son.
I guess there really are no new stories.
