Upon arrival to the arcane college it became obvious that they had arrived late to a war that was well on it's way. the college's courtyard was a warzone littered with the bodies of goblins, hyenas and gnolls. Against better judgement the troupe took on all takers and marched straight through the middle of the no-man's-land, past a dry fountain depicting a number of Celestial shield maidens and onto the college door. Before reaching the door the four ran across a group of gnolls and goblins already embroiled in their own battle over a small box. The Orc grabbed the treasure and focused on revealing it's secrets as the group progressed into the school.
They entered a spacious hall leading to the rear of the building with a pair of stairs that climb up to a balcony on the second floor. Torval, in the lead took a hastily audit of the entry hall.
Finding nothing out of place he yelled back to the others. "To the left, we can defend better with a door between us."
The four piled into the room, Teit & Firbron being the last to enter, and the last to interrupt a group of gnolls and a strange four armed humanoid ant-thing with a bright red carapace. Torval didn't waste a second, pulling a ten pound chain he uses as a weapon off his shoulders and began to swing the ends.
"Let's get ready to play boys. I don't think these here are friendly." The Elf rushed into the foray, his chain swinging for the red creatures armored legs.
"Damn Elf, always running in head strong." Orim muttered, under his breath as he withdrew the scimitar and a large bladed ring from the leather hangers on his back. The olive skinned Orc on his right, dropped the box into fold of his robs and began muttering some arcane words summoning energies from another plane, and approached the hyena-faced Gnoll leaving Teit & Firbron in the rear.
Before Torval closed the distance between himself and the sanguine colored insect, an arrow sped past him finding it's home in the shoulder plate of the alien creature, drawing it's attention from it's furry combatant just in time to meet the business end of a four foot chain dropping the creature to the floor. The Gnoll let out a high pitched yelp as an arc of electricity from Caderayc's outstretched hands touched him. Orim's sword began to glow just before the sliced it across the hyena beasts arm. A small silver serpent raced from behind the archers cape toward the prone insect and Teit began her approach with shield and mace at the ready. Her closeness with the deity Hu affected her in strange ways. During times of stress, like battle, she only speaks in a tongue unused by mortals for at least seven hundred years.
The Gnoll soon falls under the combined attacks of the Human and Orc, but the Alien proved to be much hardier an opponent taking the combined will of all four adventurers before succumbing. After they had assured that the two bodies no longer had life left in them Teit tended to any injuries while The two elves secured the doors making sure the group will be safe for the rest of the day. Caderayc sat in a corner investigating his treasure taken from the Gnolls and Goblins in the courtyard. It takes fifteen to twenty minutes before he opens the antique blood oak jewelry box to reveal a deck or antique Pengiolon fortune cards. A deck used to divine someones future or just to play a friendly game. Caderayc pulled the first card out, flipped it over to reveal the image of a Human child being eaten by a beast pulling itself out of the ground.
