The world I came from and the world I live in are two distinctly separate places. This world I'm in is a world of fantastic new discoveries and horrifying old truths. Sure the mountains are still mostly brown and made of rock, and the trees are still usually green threw most parts of the year. There is a certain... 'difference' that makes everything different. No it's not the technology, albeit advanced and holding some miraculous discoveries. Although, it might be some of those discoveries that lead to the 'difference' I feel in my heart -but I'm not sure.
...my backpack thumps on my back as I run over a collection of large rocks -I'm bouncing from left to right in a overly forward motion. A small girls, almost 5, stairs at me as I pass her and her dog playing with her burnt dolls. There are remnants of houses all over. It looks like a suburb that was victim of a horrible fire. I hop onto some loose soil -probably used to have grass. As I cross into the patch or pavement separating what used to be two opposing lawns and now resembles two brown litter boxes, my foot slides. I place my other foot down and allow myself to slide for a little before catching my footing and placing one foot in front of the other. I ran onto the other lawn and reached the wood fence that stood to separate one lawn from another. My hands stretched out and grasped for the top of the fence, I swung my body up and over the barrier. I landed firmly on the other side. With out skipping a beat I took off. There was a kidney shaped swimming pool with a diving board. I haven't seen one of those in years. I stepped into it and slid down one side catching enough momentum to propel me up the other. I took off like a rocket over the next fence and into the next lawn. The feeling of flight was amazing. I love doing that.
