I missed the bus today. So I waited the 50 minutes for the next one. Got off at my stop [2nd & Santa Clara from California & El Camino] only to find out that I missed the last light-rail by ten minutes, the next one wouldn't be around until nearly 4 am.
So, what do you do in a situation like this? You start walking.
I made my way to 1st street and I walked home. I walked until 1st changed into Monterey. I walked along Monterey until I came to Curtner. That's when my faith in humanity was lifted. We do have hope for salvation after all.
Walking along Curtner, by the fairgrounds, is were a car pulled over and the driver asked if I needed a ride. He was on his way to work. At first I declined, and told him were I was going, but he was very insistant. It was almost 3 am and I was the only thing on the road. I caved, it was a long distance after all. We talked briefly, as he drove out of his way to take a stranger home. When we arrived I tried to push a 10 in his hand but he wouldn't have anything to do with it. It is days like this that make me believe the world isn't completly jaded.
Thank you.
